Security and privacy are very important to consider when scheduling online counseling sessions. You will want to ensure your service is fully HIPAA compliant.
Is Google Meet secure?
Yes, at Waypoint 58 the security of your personal information is very important to us. We take the confidentiality of our clients seriously. In order to ensure security, we have entered into a business agreement with Google which guarantees full HIPAA compliance with all google services we use.
Can I have a session over the phone?
Yes. Although it is important to have face-to-face contact for the therapist-client relationship to develop, we do offer phone sessions when preferred by our clients or when a video session is unavailable.
Can I instant message my therapist?
Yes. We use a separate online solution for secure messaging communication. Once you are a client, you will have access to this feature. Your therapist will see your message and respond as soon as possible.
Will it work on my phone?
In most cases, yes. We use Google Meet for our online mental health care services, and most modern smartphones are capable of running the app.
